The Birth of HERO – A Motivational Leadership Program

June 20, 2019
As leaders, how can we motivate our team more effectively to achieve better organizational performance?

In search of the answer, we have developed a signature motivational leadership program – HERO.

Working together with our client, we leveraged on their happiness charter/positive leadership culture building program, combined with the H.E.R.O model from positive psychology. That’s how the HERO program was born.

The H.E.R.O. model is derived from the Psychological Capital (PsyCap) by the psychologist, Martin Seligman (2002). Being the pioneer of Positive Psychology, Selignman created a good foundation for further theory and research studies.

Many scholars showed interests in such concept and there are millions of peer-reviewed research on PsyCap. Research supported development of PsyCap into practice. A team of experts worked on the concept and developed various tools for practical use. (https://positivepsychology.com/)

Luthans (2004), a key influencer in studying PsyCap, helped connecting PsyCap to the business world.  They suggested that PsyCap can be invested and managed like economic capital, human capital, social capital, which creates a sustainable competitive advantage for an organization. While monetary investment in PsyCap is minimal compared to other types of capital, the benefits it returns can be huge.

With a profound study in the PsyCap and its practice, our signature program adopts an integrated approach to ensure the investment in such program is well worth. Here are parts of what our signature HERO program includes:

Culture building activity

Pre / post survey analysis

Leading HERO alive training program

A HERO diary for post course learning

In the coming weeks, we will uncover more contents about this culture building and motivational leadership program. Remember to follow us if you are interested in developing positive psychological capital.
