ABB Industry (Singapore)
| Mandate: |
ABB is a global leader in power
and automation technologies with operations in over 100
countries. In 2008, its Singapore unit wanted to launch
a structured mentoring scheme as part of its world-wide
talent development initiative. The scheme matched mentees
with mentors who were not their direct superiors.
|
| Solution: |
With the necessary buy-in from
the top management, we worked with the VP of Human Resources
to set up a formal mentoring process that involved the
selection and matching of mentors and mentees along with
the capability to measure the outcome.
|
| Outcome: |
At the end of the one-year mentoring cycle,
100% of the mentees said they had made progress in their
development while working with their mentors with 96%
agreeing that the experience was valuable. |
