Rhodia Asia Pacific
| Mandate: |
Rhodia is a world leader in
the development and production of specialty chemicals.
Its Asia Pacific business has over 3,000 employees in
22 sites. In 2007, the Asia Pacific unit wanted to pioneer
a leadership program initiative for its key leaders and
managers. |
| Solution: |
The focus of the initiative
was to develop greater self-awareness and key leadership
skills. We first translated Rhodia’s key competencies
into behaviours which form the basis of a 360 questionaire.
Then the participants were put through a series of psychometric
and 360 assessments before attending a week-long classroom
program which incorporated coaching, communications, change,
cultural diversity skilling and an individual coaching
feedback session with individual goal setting.
Each participant was given post-program follow-up individual
coaching for a few months. After which, a post-program
360 assessment was administered to evaluate each participant’s
progress in his/her developmental goals. |
| Outcome: |
To-date, over 60 leaders and managers had
been put through the program which is a first for Rhodia
world-wide. Post-program assessments showed that the participants
had an average of 26% improvement in their leadership
competencies as observed by their colleagues over a period
of nine months. |
